Adventures on the Gorge: A West Virginia Gem

Top notch full fun experience. The rapids we ran were such a rush!! But they made us feel safe the whole time. Efficienct and fun, totally recommended!

Such an amazing place,the whitewater rafting was a blast,the ziplining was also really fun,the pool was great,everything there on site was great.looking forward to going back next year for the rapids when they open the damn

Did the lower new river Whitewater rafting trip with my 13 year-old son and a friend. The guide was amazing her name was Maya. Ask for her!! . The only thing that wasn’t perfect as the water was really low so we didn’t get anything too crazy like I have experienced in the past. I stayed in the Kmore cabins. They were perfect for all intended purposes except some loose screws on the floor, I bought my sock and fell pretty hard but just ran it down myself and moved on. . Two things that annoyed me everything is completely cashless, which can be very inconvenient if you don’t understand that starting out, and they no longer provide adult beverages in the coolers after your activities. Not only was I disappointed. I heard quite a bit of grumbling from the others. If you’re gonna take something away, you should give people a heads up. It’s the little things that we look forward to.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ WHAT AN EXPERIENCE! Adventures on the Gorge was absolutely AMAZING. From beginning to end, this was one hell of a time! Talk about a rush! Going from one zipline to the next, it just kept getting better — longer, faster, and more exciting as we went. The distances were incredible, the views of the West Virginia mountains were beautiful, and the entire experience was put together perfectly. Every time you finished one line, you were ready to see what the next one had waiting for you. But what really took this experience to another level was the STAFF. From the moment we were picked up until the moment we were dropped back off, everyone was fantastic. We had a group of 12, and the crew made the whole adventure fun, organized, safe, and something we'll be talking about for a long time. Lora got us started and took us out to the setup location, traveling those winding roads through the West Virginia mountains. That alone lets you know you're heading out for an adventure! Then we had Ryan, Bree, and Marissa, who were outstanding. They explained everything clearly — what we were doing, what to do, what NOT to do, and how everything worked — but they didn't make it feel like some boring safety lecture. They mixed in humor, personality, and fun the entire time. They kept our group laughing while still making sure everyone knew exactly what they needed to do and felt comfortable before taking off. And then there was Perry. Watching Perry drive a FULL-SIZE SCHOOL BUS up that mountain was an experience all by itself! 😂 Seriously, that was something different and just added another memory to an already unforgettable day. The whole operation was impressive. You can tell the people working here know what they're doing, enjoy what they're doing, and know how to make their guests feel like they're part of the adventure instead of just another group coming through. If you're looking for something that's exciting, beautiful, a little crazy, and an absolute adrenaline rush, DO THIS. Five stars doesn't feel like enough. Thank you to Lora, Ryan, Bree, Marissa, Perry, and everyone at Adventures on the Gorge for giving our group one hell of an experience. We'll be talking about this one for a LONG time! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
