Towhee/mahogany loops: Beautiful secluded trail loop in this natural area. Easy to follow and very well maintained trail system… tons of small wildflowers lining the trail… not another soul out and about at sunrise this morning. I’d assume it stays pretty quiet in general which is nice. I’d recommend tagging another trail to your loop to make this longer for a run which I did, but if you’re just out for a walk, it’d work great for you. Bikes not allowed on the trail and no dogs allowed on any trails. Zero tree cover, so go early, bring sunscreen and water. If you’re there at sunrise you’ll be in the ridge line shade for a bit until you top out at the high point which is nice. Big parking lot and restroom available. I did have Verizon cell service at the lot and trail.
