The Feldsee and Feldberg section of the Black Forest was probably one of the best places to properly appreciate the landscape of the region. The scenery feels much more dramatic here, with dense forest, open mountain views and the lake sitting quietly below the surrounding slopes. It is the kind of place where the appeal is less about any single landmark and more about the overall atmosphere of being surrounded by nature. Walking around the area was very enjoyable, especially with the contrast between the forest trails and the more open viewpoints higher up. Feldsee itself is especially peaceful and photogenic, and the route around this part of the Black Forest gives a good sense of why the region is so well known for hiking and outdoor scenery. It does take a bit more effort to get around compared with simply visiting the towns, but it is worth it if you have the time. For me, this section felt like a good balance between accessible sightseeing and actually experiencing the Black Forest beyond the usual tourist stops.
