Beautiful views at every point. - You don't need to book a ticket for sunrise. - For the PR1 trail, you need to book tickets in advance. There are two options: 1. Book tickets online. There are two routes available: one to the Stairway to Heaven (included) and back, or the complete route. However, once you reach the "gate," there's no turning back, which adds another 4-5 hours one way. 2. If you can't get tickets online, you can buy them on-site from locals. Just ask the ticket collectors; they'll direct you to the appropriate people. - We took the bus for €6 per person round trip. It only runs at specific times, departing from and returning to the starting point. (Bus: Pico do Arieiro)
