When I did this hike with my wife and 3 kids, it was the toughest and longest hike we had done to date. I went a little overboard with the planning, but it was worth it in the end. If I really had to focus on a few key points, I would say be sure to bring plenty of water, make sure you bring moleskin for blister prevention, and take your time to look around and take photos. Go that little bit of extra distance at the top...a couple of my kids chose not to and regret it. Get the shirt, you earned it!
