A wonderful, special, and unique place, any time of year. There are easy routes at lower elevations, and very extreme or complex routes reaching the highest peaks.

Had an incredible experience hiking to Mulhacén with Sierra Nevada Spain Hiking. The scenery was stunning, and the guide was fantastic – super knowledgeable about local history, flora, and fauna. He took loads of great photos throughout the trip, which was a huge bonus. Communication over WhatsApp was smooth and helpful, and I was able to rent missing gear easily. Swim breaks added a fun and refreshing touch. Highly recommend this adventure!

It was a great experience to hike around the Alpujarra mountains in the Sierra Nevada with José. He knows trails you won´t find on any map and is very knowledgeable about the nature and culture of the region. We visited a chestnut tree that is over 1600 years old and was still planted by the Romans and José pointed out a rare tiny orchid to me that only exists in these mountains - I would have just walked past it without his expert eye. Another really interesting discovery were the intricate irrigation systems first introduced by the Moors that bring water from the mountain rivers to the gardens and white villages of the region. I highly recommend Sierra Nevada Spain Hiking if english isn´t your first language, as they also offer guiding services in dutch, german, french and of course spanish.

Hiking in the Sierra Nevada was an amazing experience. Jose was very helpful, reassuring and responsive to help me choose the appropriate hike and materials. The hike was intense, we walked 20 kms on the first day to reach the refuge of La Caldera passing through beautiful lagunas. On the second day we hiked to Mulhacen peak at 3500 m and then walked down 20 kms to Capileira village, stopping to eat a frittata on the way. The landscapes are amazing, very diverse, with diverse fauna and flora. My guide Derk took great care of me and provided good support, as I was hiking solo for the first time. Very rewarding experience. I recommend for everyone looking for challenging, off-the-beaten-path, transformative experiences.
