Skeleton Point is a great spot to take a break and soak in some incredible views before the trail gets tougher. From here, you can finally see the Colorado River in the distance, which is pretty rewarding. But I found the stretch between Skeleton Point and the Tip Off to be the most challenging part of the hike, lots of switchbacks and a steady descent that really works your legs. It’s beautiful, but definitely the section where you’ll want to pace yourself and make sure you’ve got enough water.
