Editorial Assessment

Catamount Trailhead provides a lovely, accessible outdoor destination featuring gentle waterfalls and interesting rock formations in a peaceful mountain setting. While it offers a charming day hike and nature experience, it does not possess the scale or unique geological rarity to rank among the world’s most iconic natural landmarks. It is highly valued locally for its tranquility and natural beauty but remains a regional rather than global standout.

1,500 ft of elevation gain on a very rocky trail. Nice hike but the trail ends at a road with periodic cars for the final half mile to the resevoir. That was a bit of a letdown. The town of Green Mountain Falls is small and nice. Great lunch after the hike at the Pantry.
