Not impressed, the food was very good but the service was nonchalant and truthfully subpar, I've had fast food service better than this? The prices are on par with being a high end restaurant but as the customer I expect to be wowed for that investment. While traveling internationally I often feel that the lack of tipping and paying the higher wage leads to this type of average service at what is supposed to be an exceptional restaurant.

We ordered the lagoon and lava package which was a pretty good deal. The food was great, especially the langoustine soup, the beef tenderloin and the crème brûlée. The disappointing bit was the service. I specifically asked for a birthday message for my partner on the dessert that we ordered — the request was not fulfilled and no one told me beforehand that it could not have been fulfilled. The waiter also sent us the wrong bill. Luckily we checked. It was saddening that our birthday dinner celebration ended like that.

Had dinner at Lava during our Blue Lagoon trip and our server Grace was fantastic - she went out of her way to get us a table by the windows so we could enjoy the lagoon view while eating, which was much appreciated! Appetizers were the highlight — chicken liver, burrata, and arctic char tartare are must-orders. Soups were on the saltier side. For mains, we preferred the lamb or fish over the beef tenderloin. Food’s solid, not amazing, but between the view and Grace’s service, worth a stop. Big thumbs up to Grace! 👍

We had a lovely meal here with a view of the lagoon. The food and service was excellent but there is something about the sparse decor that makes it hard for the restaurant to shake the casual atmosphere of the cafe next door
