Kinlock falls is a fun spot to spend the day with friends and family in Bankhead. You can chill at the top of the water fall in the shallow water or take the short hike to the bottom of it. In addition to that, you can slide down the water fall in a couple different spots. The safest way to do this is to slide from the shallow upper part. If you are feeling adventurous like me, you can take the path less traveled and climb to the slide.

Such a good stop! -Kinlock road eventually becomes gravel and LOTS of potholes so plan accordingly. -ZERO cell service so have your navigation in and out worked out before you get there because you will not be able to look up anything once you’re there. -no parking lot. You just pull over on the side of the road and the falls are immediately below you. If you got to the bridge, you went too far. -Steep trek down but very short. -bring water shoes if you plan on getting in because the rocks will make it miserable on your feet if you don’t. -if you want to slide down the falls, use a tube. Water at bottom of falls is pretty shallow so if you just slide with your body alone there’s a higher chance of hitting the bottom too hard. -There’s not going to be a bunch of spots to put your stuff so pack light.

Great place to stay cool and let the kids swim. A lot of people started showing up in the afternoon and over 60 people were in a rather tight space. I definitely recommend an inner tube for sliding down the rock fall.
