What a fantastic trip this has been! I am very impressed by both the beauty of the Canary Islands and the excellent organization by Canary Hiking. The name Canary Contrasts sums up this trip perfectly. Over several days, and sometimes even hikes, you walk through an enormous variety of landscapes: from volcanic lava fields and fragrant pine forests to spectacular mountain areas, deep ravines, and even beautiful cloud forests. What I perhaps appreciated most was that absolutely everything was arranged so well. The only thing I had to concern myself with along the way was walking, enjoying nature, and occasionally stopping to take in the view. All luggage transport went flawlessly, and my suitcase was already waiting whenever I arrived at the next accommodation. The transfers to and from the airport were also perfectly organized. That provided a great deal of peace of mind and made it possible to fully immerse myself in the trip. The accommodations were excellent, without exception. The atmospheric casa rurals gave the trip an authentic character, while the hotels offered a great deal of comfort and luxury. I was received warmly everywhere and felt welcome. The rooms were clean, the breakfast delicious, and often I could even access my room before the official check-in time. Hábitat Eva stood out to me personally as a particularly lovely place to stay. The service from Canary Hiking also deserves a big compliment. Whenever I had a question along the way, I received an answer via WhatsApp almost immediately. Even on a Friday at 9:00 PM, when I no longer expected a response, someone was ready to help within a few minutes. You don't often come across that level of commitment and accessibility, and it gave me a lot of confidence during the trip. The hikes themselves were unforgettable. The ascent and descent of Mount Teide was literally and figuratively the highlight of the trip. Additionally, I found the circular hike through the Anaga Mountains with its unique cloud forest breathtakingly beautiful. On Gran Canaria, the route from Puerto de las Nieves to Artenara was an absolute favorite. The rest days were also perfectly chosen. It was wonderful to have time to further explore places like Puerto de las Nieves, Tejeda, and Maspalomas, to relax at the natural rock pools by the sea, or to visit the coffee plantation in the Agaete Valley. Canary Hiking provided me with a hiking holiday that exceeded all expectations. Thanks to the excellent organization, I was able to enjoy two beautiful islands completely carefree. I look back on this trip with immense pleasure and would recommend Canary Hiking without any hesitation to anyone looking for a perfectly organized hiking holiday.

Challenging, varied trek. You do need to be an experienced hiker as it involves quite a few elevation changes. You can, however, enjoy stunning panoramic views (if there isn't too much cloud cover ;) ).

A friend and I did a self-guided hiking tour of Tenerife and La Gomera with Canary Hiking. The hikes and accommodations they chose were excellent. There was a lot of variety for both and I feel we got a good sense of the unique character of the islands. The taxi and luggage transfers were always on time and the drivers were very friendly. Canary Hiking was very responsive both before and during the trip if we had any questions or issues. We travelled immediately after Storm Therese and it was very reassuring to know that Canary Hiking was in place to take care of any issues related to trail or road closures. It would have been very stressful to deal with all that on our own.

Canary-hiking did an excellent job: 1. Designing a diverse set of hikes that showed off the different wilderness and national Park areas on Tenerife and La Gomera. Hikes were both challenging and fascinating which is the BEST combo! 2. Tailoring the hikes to distances we thought we'd be able to cover in a day and providing route information so we could navigate real time (using Komoot. AllTrails would have worked I learned). 3. Arranging for seamless pick up and drop off transportation as needed. 4. Scheduling the most interesting and diverse lodging and breakfast locations. 5. Providing information about the towns we visited on our point to point journey. It was SO nice also they were available when plans had to change to help us with alternative arrangements. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. It was the best blend of being on our own but with minimal logistics decisions and someone who had our backs when changes (weather related) were needed.
