Discover the Beauty of Wintergreen Falls

It's honestly not amazing. It starts out at the horse trailer parking lot and then you have to walk down to an unmarked trailhead on the right with a metal gate. From there it's a solid 35 minute downhill all the way to the base of the falls. Unless you are very agile and willing to rockhop not the easiest rocks, you can play in a pool of water about 8ft wide by 4 feet deep. The river then narrowly flows down from there, again not easily rock-hopped. The uphill all the way back up to the start will have you second guessing the hike. Highly reccomend triple falls or hooker falls over this hike. Sure it's less crowdes...but that doesn't make up for the fact you can barely even swim at the base. Do not climb to the top and play around. Deadly fall if you slip and nobody is coming in time to get you. The only cool thing about this hike was the big boulders you see through the trees up on the left as you walk down. 3/10 on an enjoyment scale. I've been to triple and hooker and numerous other falls, and they are entirely more worth it, even if they get busy.

Its a easy trail. Multiple ways to get down there. Be aware of the bears.

Great hike in length, incline, and reward. Took our 6-year-old and he did well. Really cool waterfall.

Nice waterfall with a pretty easy trail, about a mile and a half walk from the parking lot

Wintergreen Falls is a scenic 20-foot waterfall on Grassy Creek. Accessed from Guion Farm, it's less visited than the more well-known waterfalls on Little River, but still popular nonetheless. From the large parking area, head south on Tarkiln Branch Road for about a mile and turn on Wintergreen Falls Trail. it's also a wide road for about a half-mile and then the last portion of the trail is a little more difficult but short to reach the base. Our 2-year old hiked most of the trail but we backpacked her for the difficult section. The rocks around the waterfall make a good scene for pictures. There is also an upper waterfall that can be reached from an unmarked path that starts behind the bike rack near the end of Wintergreen Falls Trail.
