This forest is supposed to be public, but wasn't maintained for over 8 years. It's a disgrace and disaster. We we're told that several people from Garrison, Fire tower,Long Branch and Reeves roads ride the trails with ATVs. We used the numbers that were to the forest, spoke to the guy named Johnathan and some Kimberly, who said YES, primitive camping and atving WAS allowed. Just to have some Sheriff and another guy named Johnathan throw us out. So much for doing our due diligence and calling them. Getting bad info and now they skid loaded the trails so even hiking is unable. Whoever is in charge of this forest SUCK at their jobs and MUST be fired. Bring atving and primitive camping to a PUBLIC forest. It's not for public use when some guy and girl keep threatening everyone they find... Guess they decided to use cameras to thawrt people from using the forest ALL TOGETHER. This forest has been used for decades by the people around to ride ATVs... we've met several people telling us about the trails. All the forest people use it for is clear cutting... We'll hike and post new updates of how the FOREST managers are DESTROYING the forest.... NOT the atvers or campers. It's a travesty. Guess we'll start signing petitions and calling for the rules to be changed and current foresters to be removed.

Being from out of town I was looking for a walking or hiking spot. Directions take you to a road with no signs, no parking, no directions, nothing. I drove several miles out fire tower road looking for parking and trail heads….Nothing! Finally I just turned around in disgust. Locals could have helped by giving tips to others not familiar with this place. It was pretty and remote but a total dud for this out of town visitor.

Nothing at this location but logging sites.. Pictures and reviews are confusing. No where to park and no trails.
