Great hike! Challenging in the heat of a July afternoon. The views were worth every second of this beautiful hike. Trail was very well maintained. The trail has 3 short, but very steep sections. Do not get caught without enough water. The grating at the firetower made staying up there a little unsettling, but the views were magnificent.

A little confusing to find the trail. No signs at parking area and there are two trails, one on each side of the parking area. Trail for Mills Ridge does not begin until about a half mile walk on a logging road. Still no signs. Trail markers on trail but if you are not sure where to go, it's a little frustrating. Very pretty but our hike was cut short because it started snowing! Will definitely research the area and then return!
