Finally managed to climb Huangshan Mountain. So beautiful, too beautiful. The mountains look like they have been sanded to make them very smooth. The stairs are very neat and well maintained, there are toilets, lots of them and clean. We can take the bus for half an hour to the cable car, then by cable car maybe around 15 minutes to arrive and we can start climbing. Many people bring walking sticks to make the journey easier, but if you don't bring one, that's okay, because the stairs are very well maintained and well maintained. Tips: don't force yourself, climb slowly, stop, rest, take photos and then continue the journey. The climb starts by going down the stairs, but when you return or go home you have to climb the stairs, so don't be too tired because you have to think about the journey home and back.

Do not come here. Extremely bad experience - people are rude here, they cut lines, they push and yell. The steps to go up is quite small in width but people keep stopping to take photos and make others behind wait. You’re literally moving at a snail pace, it’s a waste of time. The people working here don’t care and do not help make things more efficient. I tried telling an attendant that a group cut us in line, and she just laughed (and did not apologise). It’s not cheap too - you need to pay 1 entrance fee, 2 bus tickets (1 there & 1 back), and 2 cable car tickets (1 there & 1 back) - total about 500 yuan / person. The views are NOT worth the stress and price.

March 2025 1 day trip from Hangzhou. (Bring passport) 715am-first high speed train from Hangzhou East railway station, 1.5hr duration. 845am-reach Huangshan Bei(north) station. Buy 1 way coach ticket to Huangshan entrance SOUTH gate 50 mins ride. 930am-purchase a 20min bus ride ticket to 云谷寺站 cable car station. 10am-purchase entrance( ¥190 for China citizen, 50% discount for foreigners) & 1 way cable car(¥65-¥90 off/peak season) tickets. 1030am-reach the peak of the cable car station. Explore the other peaks and enjoy the scenery BUT DO NOT GO 西海大峡谷 that direction as there is not enough time. Spend a maximum of 10mins in a spot for photo taking. 1610pm you must reach 玉屏索道 station because 1630pm is the LAST RIDE!!! or you will have to stay overnight on the mountain. To really enjoy Huangshan mountain, it is recommended for a 2 day trip but it is very tiring on the joints of your legs. A lot of steep climbing which is really torturing. Not suitable for children under 12, old and frail, handicapped or with medical conditions. Human Carriage service depend on distances, the nearer the cheaper, price from ¥400-¥2000++. 五岳归来不看山, 黄山归来不看岳。
