Soothing Waters of Spence Hot Springs

Great destination! Enjoyed the open trail and peaceful outdoor atmosphere.

First hike to a natural hot springs. Hike is not too bad (had 4 y/o and 9 y/o with that did just fine). There are two small body of water on top of another - tier like water fountain. People left dirty baby diapers, socks, a bath towel and water bottles. Bottom springs is covered in moss. Top springs only fit the 4 of us -we only went in to take a couple photos and headed back. Will not be returning.

There is no problem getting to the parking lot as it feels like it is in the mountains in Japan, but you will have to trek a bit from the free parking lot to the hot springs. Go down, cross the river, and go up another steep hill. I think it will be a 10 minute trek. It's a pretty steep slope, so You can change into your swimsuit in the parking lot, but it's best to wear sneakers. The hot spring is It feels really natural. Moss is growing. The water is lukewarm. It is located on a steep slope, so depending on where you are trying to enter, it can be dangerous, so please be careful when entering. If you find it difficult to enter, If you go further up the top of the hot spring and go down, there is a place where you can easily enter. There is also a small cave in the hot spring, making it a very interesting natural hot spring. In the summer, it might be a good idea to go downhill on your way back from the hot springs, take a break at the river, and then go uphill to the parking lot.
