This place has it all From sandy dune inclines to flatland paths leading out to a nice observation deck in the middle of the marsh/ponds. The flora & fauna are amazing... Always some new specimens spotted on every visit. And the bird species are always present and abundant. As for the alligators...they are out there as well. If you find your way to the observation deck and take your time looking around you inevitably will spot one or more. I carry a set of mini binoculars myself just to be sure I have a better chance of seeing our local dinos... So with that in mind... It is very dog friendly just keep them leashed as the alligators aren't required to wear one😁 And while crossing the marsh areas please be aware of your surroundings as you are at gator level 🐊🐊🐊 And remember water !!! For you and your furry buddies. Have fun👍

This was a very sandy trail but it was a nice short hike and very enjoyable. While shady in spots we went mid-day so it was quite sunny. Visit earlier in the morning or later in the day and it will probably be shader. Parking is on the side of the road and the trail is basically all sand, there are also multiple changes in elevation, but good hike in general.
