⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We entered the lottery for The Wave, but unfortunately, we weren't chosen. A little disheartened, we started looking for an alternative and discovered the Wire Pass Trailhead... and it was a wonderful surprise! There were four of us, with our two 14-year-old daughters, and the trail was more than doable and truly beautiful. At one point, there's a small, slightly more challenging section, with a drop of about five feet, but there was a log that helped us descend and, more importantly, ascend. The pictures we'd seen hadn't prepared us for how beautiful it was in person: the rock formations, the colors, and the landscape are truly spectacular. We left a little disappointed not to have won The Wave, but we returned super satisfied and pleasantly surprised to have discovered this place. If you don't manage to win the lottery for The Wave, don't be discouraged: Wire Pass is definitely an alternative not to be missed!

One of the most stunning hikes I’ve ever done. Great midday hike if you can get past the ~1.5 miles of direct sun. The slot canyons are dark and cool, nearly 15-20 degrees cooler than surface temperatures.
