Stunning We were in a campervan so we took a tour. Wonderful tour with Elvis Stanley from dineh bekayah tours. Doing the visit with a guide is a real plus, explanations on everything we saw, the history of the reserve and the Navajos. We also have access to an area only accessible with a guide. Elvis took wonderful photos for us, we had an emotional sequence in an arch, where he played Navajo music for us. He was very kind, it’s a wonderful souvenir of our road trip. Entry $8 per person to the park, in addition to the tour reservation.

Worth seeing in person as opposed to through other people's eyes. Once you pay the fee at the gate you are free to drive around these majestic ruins. HIGHLY recommend a four-wheel drive but it's not required. Although going down that first hill into the valle, four-wheel drive is comforting! Left SW Colorado and had a pleasant drive to Monument Valley. Beautiful landscapes and colors. We went the afternoon of the annular eclipse in October 2023, so there was much more traffic than usual. And watch out for people standing in the middle of the road at the Forrest Gump location.
