This "island" is a clump of mangroves in the flats of Key Largo, and is accessible with a kayak or shallow draft boat during medium to high tide. With some exploring, you can push through to the interior of the island which is a small lagoon. This is not an island in a classic sense as there is no dry land, but "bird poop island" as some of the locals call it is home to many species of bird and a great spot for aquatic bird enthusiasts.

There is no way to get to the island

Small mud island fringed by mangroves with a tiny lagoon in the middle. This serves as a nesting area for herons, egrets, and comorrants. Located in a no-motor zone so only reachable by paddle-power. When approaching use stealth (no talking or splashing) to prevent scaring off the nesting birds.
