Would be such a beautiful place built by communist visionaries if it wasnt flooded with waste. The mountains and the cristal clear water are stunning only the empty bottles of western lemonade and ketchup ruin the atmosphere.

The boat trip is quite chaotic in organisation, we were lucky to arrive at 1:20 PM, just 10 min before the next departure to Shosh. The trip took around one hour -one way. The views are wonderful and our captains were cool. Overall it’s worth the experience, it would be helpful just to specify better the boat schedules.

I agree with all of these comments. It’s genuinely heartbreaking to see how little regard there seems to be for protecting such a beautiful natural landscape. The floating plastic and rubbish was impossible to ignore. It was everywhere you looked, from the second we got off the bus to the moment we arrived at Shala River. The photo I took doesn’t even begin to show the extent of it. I really wish everyone involved, including the local tour and boat companies, would take more responsibility for collecting and properly disposing of waste. It simply can’t continue like this. The atmosphere at Shala River wasn’t quite what we expected either. With the riverbanks packed with umbrellas, sunbeds and restaurants, we ended up walking all the way to the other side just to find a spot that felt more like the natural mountain river we’d come to experience.

I just returned from visiting Lake Koman and the Shala River, and I am deeply saddened and disappointed by what humanity has done to nature! The lake is littered with floating trash. It's a disgrace! How can they welcome so many tourists and offer tours of such a naturally beautiful lake in such a state? And the river? Completely ruined and sadly ravaged by illegal dumping and the proliferation of beach loungers, parasols, and hotels that spoil the landscape. Three hours in this completely ravaged place felt incredibly long, and I returned home very disappointed. And what about pedestrian safety in that tunnel where cars and buses drive and struggle to pass each other, even though pedestrians are present? The pollution is unbelievable, including in the tunnel and at the port. I do not recommend this place and will not return.
