This is NOT a trail. Literally NOTHING about this is a trail. We trekked MILES through tall grass and thick brush up to my waist. With our ankles deep in marsh water. They slap a few boards down at the beginning to give the illusion of a maintained trail but it quickly devolves into shit. We emerged with soaked through waterproof Merrells and completely covered in ticks. Do not come here. And definitely do NOT bring pets or children.

Hiked the perimeter loop. It was awesome. All trails are well labeled with red paint on trees and maps posted at all intersections. The trails were more akin to bushwhacking, watch for mud and ticks.

Would not recommend hiking the inland loop at this time of year - trail was not just muddy but impassable due to standing water. If you have waterproof wellies you’ll be fine, but otherwise I’d head to the state park.
