Falling Creek Falls: Nature's Tranquil Gem in Florida

There are only six natural waterfalls found in Florida, and this is one! Nestled in the woods just south of White Springs sits Falling Creek Falls. It's not the most creative name, but it gets the point across of how uncommon it is to see such a sight in our mostly flat state. The boardwalk is fairly short to get to the six-foot falls (about a half mile), but beautiful and kept in good condition. When you arrive at the sight you'll be overlooking the falls and the pool from at least three observation angles. It's fairly photogenic, and would suggest the stop whenever we've had a good rainy season for more dramatic action.

​A rare Florida waterfall beauty! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Falling Creek Falls is a stunning little park. The trail is a quick 0.6-mile loop that is mostly a beautifully maintained, elevated wooden boardwalk, making it highly accessible. You can hear the roar of the falls before you even see them! The water drops over a limestone ledge into a ravine, creating a beautiful contrast with the surrounding cypress and magnolia trees. ​Tip: The water volume depends heavily on recent rainfall, so it's especially impressive after a good storm! There's also a great playground and clean picnic areas at the trailhead. Just note that dogs aren't allowed on this trail.

Nice to go look at and photograph. Not much of a hike and it’s just a walk on a boardwalk. Not sure why the parks in this area don’t allow dogs. So luckily I only had my tiny dog with me and could carry him plus there was no one else around since it was such a hot day. I took a couple videos that many friends commented on how pretty. But basically just a short walk to see the falls- nothing more for a serious walker or hiker
