The view was drop dead gorgeous and we went right at golden hour. Although if you want a clear view there are tons of big rocks you have to climb.

It is an amazing sunset hike. Challenging and very accomplishing hike. Very much doable. Majestic view of Lake Tahoe. Those emerald waters are so mesmerizing. Make sure to reach the summit a little before sunset because it gets crowded. Must do!!!

Accurate location to park your car: Cave Rock Trail Head, 669 Cave Rock Dr, Glenbrook, NV 89413 I suggest going about an hour before sunset time to get a spot. There are only 6 to 7 parking spots. People also park in the neighborhood and take the trail to the cave rock. Hiking the trail is easy but be ready for some scrambling to go up the Cave Rock. I would say it is moderate not easy (be careful, do not get hurt). The view is excellent though. I was surprised to see small kids up the Cave Rock to see the sunset. It was worth the hike/scramble but just once. I would say if you have older people with you, who might have difficulty scrambling up the rock, there are spots with the clear view of the sunset along the trail where you can watch the sunset. If you have some chairs then may be sit and watch the sunset from the trail itself.

I went there 15 minutes before , run through the trail and climb the rock in 2 minutes to see this beautiful sunset. The rock climbing isn’t hard but it is not easy to get climb down while it is dark.
