It was rainy, but our tour went anyway. Our guide was great. We saw the grave of a young lady who had dated James Buchanan (our only single President) much to her rich father's dismay. Learned about Milton Hershey's beginnings in Lancaster and his mother's strong personality. Learned how one church disagreed about whether or not to use German. When they split over it and built a new church, it only went 20 more years till they stopped preaching German. Saw the location of the jail where the Paxton Boys massacred peacful Indians😢. Heard a not so flattering perspective of our Revolutionary Thomas Paine. The mother of a family he stayed at when he visited Lancaster said he drank and partied all night and lazed around all day, being a bad influence on her children. Learned that Lancaster was the Capitol city of the country for a day when the Contintental Congress fled Philadelphia as the British approached. (Fuzzy on details) And we learned so much more than I can mention...

We had a wonderful tour and a great tour guide, Molly. The tour started at tourist center in downtown Lancaster and we walk and heard interesting facts and stories of all the high points. It was a very pleasant walk and Molly was an awesome tour guide and a wealth of knowledge. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone that enjoys walking and learning at the same time.👍👍
