Fairly easy out and back trail. Most elevation is near the end and is moderate. Falls are spectacular and trail is well maintained. Pet friendly.

I’m torn between giving this four or five stars - the river is spectacular, the falls are OK, but that river roaring beside you every step of the trail is incredible. Maybe I didn’t love it as much as I could have because I didn’t get out on the trail until about 9 AM, and combined with the elevation and the sunshine, it was pretty brutal even when I started out at 60°. The trail is well marked and easy to follow. Alltrails takes you an extra half mile or so to “the waterfall“, but I found that I would’ve stopped it before that when you get the best view of the three waterfalls coming down. In my mind no need to really go farther than that. There were several people on the trail, though, with towels looking for the “place the kids can go down the slide“. The river was running so fast, I don’t know if I would do that, lol. Lots of pretty wildflowers. Saw no moose, don’t think I picked up any ticks, large parking lot (Bruce’s Bridge is best to put in Google Maps). Pit toilet on site. It’s a large parking lot, and when I got there at 9 AM there were probably already a dozen cars there. Unfortunately, people were leaving their bags of dog poo by the pit toilets and even by the trailhead. What’s up with that? Also, many people had dogs on the trail that were not leashed and were just running wild. Not cool! After you cross the bridge to get to the trail, there is a nice wide trail on the right and then a narrow trail on the left. You want the one on the left. Very little shade on the trail. Also, bring more water than you think, my 32 ounces was not enough. Wear closed-toed shoes and use sunscreen and a hat, please! I saw many people with sandals and no water bottles, and I don’t think they would be enjoying it very much, but what do I know!
