Such a beautiful drive through the volcanic crater to the lake. You must have a 4x4 vehicle to get to the location. And there will be a bathroom (WC) near the end of F-235 before you head down to the lake, and a hut with a lockbox at the door for people who want to stay + fish for a cost.

The view is absolutely incredible from my living room. Would highly recommend for anyone watching on Apple TV.

My favorite place in Iceland. The beauty of this turquoise lake is dazzling, with Vatnajökull in the background; the landscape gives a feeling of being at the ends of the earth. In my opinion, it's an unmissable place that absolutely must be admired. The area is off the beaten track due to its difficult access (you need a good 4x4) because of the few river crossings. The lake is located about two hours from Landmannalaugar.

Absolutely magnificent. The drive along the F235 to reach this lake is just as pleasant as the arrival. And above all, so few people. This place is simply stunning.
