About This Adventure Destination

Climbo - Gran Canaria Tours and Adventure Activities offers visitors a chance to embrace the striking natural landscapes surrounding Las Palmas, in the Canary Islands. Set against rugged volcanic terrain, this outdoor destination is known for its dramatic cliffs, deep valleys, and impressive rock formations. The area provides a refreshing contrast to the city life, with pristine pine forests, native shrubbery, and clear blue skies creating an inviting backdrop for adventure seekers.

This destination stands out due to its unique volcanic geology and the accessibility of diverse terrains all within a short distance. Visitors can appreciate panoramic views of the island’s mountainous interiors, including steep ravines carved into ancient lava flows. The indigenous flora, such as the emblematic Canarian pine trees and brushwoods that withstand volcanic soils, add a rare botanical interest to the location.

Climbo’s appeal is further heightened by its position near several protected natural parks, which host endemic species and offer a glimpse into the island’s ecological history. While climbing is the main focus, the environment also allows for hiking and mountain biking in nearby areas, providing a full outdoor experience. The temperate climate of Gran Canaria ensures pleasant conditions for activity almost year-round, making it an ideal spot for nature lovers seeking physical challenge amid exceptional volcanic scenery.

Adding cultural depth is the island’s long history shaped by volcanic activity and early settlement, reflecting a balance between rugged wilderness and carefully maintained natural spaces. This proximity to Las Palmas means adventure enthusiasts can easily access urban amenities while enjoying nature’s raw beauty nearby.

Editorial Assessment

Climbo is notable for its impressive volcanic rock climbing opportunities and diverse outdoor activities, but it is less globally unique compared to rare geological formations or world-famous natural landmarks. Its accessibility and combination of volcanic scenery with adventure sports make it highly attractive for visitors seeking active experiences in Gran Canaria, though it does not reach the highest tier reserved for exceptional natural wonders.

Yesterday I joined the red canyon tour and it was fantastic. I can only recommend this excursion, especially because of our tour guides Stefano and Victor who explained the canary history in a fun way. I'll join them again for another of their tours.

We had a great day on the Red Canyon tour with Climbo in a mini bus group of 8 people, seeing the real Gran Canaria. David was a super informative and insightful tour guide, and was great company. He was brilliant with our kids of 5 and 7, with clear English, a great music playlist and careful driving on the winding roads. He also took some cool photos which were shared soon after the tour which was a nice bonus. The tour wasn’t too strenuous and was a nice mix of cool sights, history and locals flavours. We’d absolutely recommend to others, thank you David and the Climbo team!

Today I took the excursion to the heart of the volcano on the island of Gran Canaria. Absolutely wonderful. Don't think you've truly visited this island if you haven't been to see Roque Nublo. A fantastic experience. My guides were David and Stefano. They explained everything perfectly in both English and Spanish. Kind, attentive, and friendly. They picked me up at my hotel and were excellent drivers on those incredibly winding roads in the island's interior. Don't risk your rental car when you can come with such great company. Watching the sunset at the highest point on the island, with the sun setting behind Mount Teide, is number one on my top ten list of things to do. IT'S SOMETHING UNIQUE!! 👌

Today's activity was great, but it was made even better by Celeste, our guide. She gave detailed explanations, is a good driver, polite, attentive (especially at the points I found most difficult), friendly, and always had a smile on her face. Thank you, Celeste!
