Red Rock Canyon Campground is located two miles east of the Scenic Loop entrance. The campground offers 72 standard campsites and 7 group sites, ideal for solo travelers, families, and larger groups. Spread across well-maintained desert terrain, these sites provide a tranquil base with breathtaking views of sandstone cliffs and open skies. Vault toilets, trash dumpsters, picnic tables, and fire pits are available, but there is no water access, so bring your own supply.

This 13-mile one-way road provides close proximity to hikes like the Calico Tanks Trail for stunning panoramas of the Las Vegas Strip or Lost Creek–Children’s Discovery Trail, suitable for families. Rock climbing enthusiasts also appreciate the campground’s proximity to climbing routes at Calico Hills and Sandstone Quarry, both within a short drive.

Nighttime Stargazing With minimal light pollution, the campground is a prime spot for stargazing. The desert sky comes alive with an impressive display of stars, offering a rare opportunity to enjoy the cosmos in near silence and isolation away from city lights.

October through April is ideal, offering cooler temperatures. Summers can reach over 100°F.
