Waterfall Wonder: Adelina Falls

Adelina Falls – Blue Mountains Adelina Falls is one of the five waterfalls along the beautiful South Lawson Waterfall Loop Track in the Blue Mountains, NSW. This peaceful waterfall is easily accessible from the nearby car park at Honour Avenue, making it a great destination for families and casual walkers. The South Lawson circuit is a loop walk of approximately 3.5 km and takes around 1.5 to 2 hours to complete, depending on how long you spend enjoying the waterfalls and taking photos. Along the track you'll discover five waterfalls: Adelina Falls, Junction Falls, Federal Falls, Cataract Falls, and Terrace Falls. Surrounded by lush bushland, sandstone cliffs, and native wildlife, Adelina Falls is a perfect spot to experience the natural beauty of the Blue Mountains away from the larger tourist crowds.

Though the falls were more of a trickle when I was there, it is still a worthwhile trip because paths link it to other falls in the immediate area. The paths are well-defined and easy going for the most part and are accompanied by the sound of trickling water, though some parts (perhaps 5%) are steep and rough. I saw a couple of families that had made their way there with very young children to paddle, so the tracks are easily navigable by most. Still, take water and snacks/food. Be aware that there are two carparks, one of which is the "Southern" car park and there is about 400 metres uphill walk from here to the more northern, and much smaller car park. In the tradition of NSWPWS, signposting is rudimentary at best.
