Clean port-a-potty at the trailhead. Nice gradual incline.

So glad I hit that trail! It's a decent workout, about 6 miles up and down. Super happy I made it to the top. Going downhill is way easier, lol. Great way to spend a couple of hours, depending on your pace. Wear good shoes and be ready! Totally fun and worth it!

This gets 3.5/5. I hiked the icicle ridge trail off of icicle road on a sunny June morning. This gets 3.5 stars because you can see the town the whole way up to the viewpoint - if you want to mainly be in nature, you can choose a different hike. If you are happy to have the convenience of being near downtown and are staying near Icicle Road, this hike is a fine option. There is a nice view at lookout point. Easy parking without needing permits. Note there are nicer views if you continue up along the ridge trail after the lookout - then there are viewpoints along the ridge where you can see to Wenatchee and beyond. I was also happy to be able to see, from the top, the bridge over the Wenatchee river, that is featured in photos of the Leavenworth area.

Surprisingly great option that ends in a great view of the town and the rivers. Trailhead had a porta potty and tons of parking; not as busy as other hikes. Also, no pass required. It is all uphill, and the ground gets loose the higher you get.

Great hike! We left at 9:30 am in mid June. 8:30 am would have been better. We with our 7lb Chihuahua were out of shape and in our early and late 60’s we didn’t have appropriate shoes since this was a last minute visit to Leavenworth. We powered through in the heat all the way to the top and back. It took about 4 hours with many stopping points along the way including the end of the trail where we spent most of our time. All hikers we encountered were very nice. Definitely worth the struggle to the top.
