I rented a cabin, here, and I couldn't have been more pleased with the weekend I spent. Another beautiful Kentucky State Park. The staff were helpful, the cabin was clean and well stocked. The restaurant at the lodge was well worth the price. Plenty of trails, and of course, the bridge. It was a short 0.75 mile walk, but go prepared as the trail has many stairs, twists, and turns. This is a great place for weekend away. However, know that it is a place where almost everything closes around 9-10 at night, so make sure you have everything you need.

There is not a lot to do in this area of Kentucky so we booked this resort so we could use the pool in the 90+ degree heat. There was no indication on the website that the pool was closed mid-August so we did not know until we were almost there and looked at the park's Facebook page. We have done all the tourist things in the area and now will be leaving early, losing out on our non-refundable booking because it's not what we expected. We would have booked a much shorter trip had it been clear the pool was closed. The rooms were clean for a state park and the staff was very friendly. The continental breakfast wasn't great but dinner was decent at the restaurant. The bar is fantastic - great bourbon selection and great bartenders!!

Staff does a great job. Mark and Glenn with maintenance went above and beyond the call of duty to help me. Snow and ice had all NBSRP trails closed. I brought crampons and hiked in the Red River Gorge but one of them broke leaving me face down in a slightly thawing Copperas Creek. I needed to fix them or go home. I run into them on my way to breakfast the next morning and asked if they had a piece of wire so I could try to fix it myself. They had me follow them back to the maintenance garage and they fixed them for me. They did a great job and I was able to do some great hiking that day. Thanks guys and thanks to the park for hiring such exceptional human beings.
