This is the beautiful lake at Lucerne fed by the Reuss River. It was formed by glacier erosion during the last ice age and is around 114 square kilometers in distance with a max depth of 212 metres. At Lucerne, we enjoyed walking the quai areas on both the north and south sides of the Reuss River mouth, taking in the lake and views of opposite sides of the lake as well as the mountain peaks in the distance. You can also board various boats at the jetties that line the lake at Old Town if you fancy a trip across or around the lake.
