6/2026 - Per NPS website, this should reopen something during summer of 2026. 2025 - I spoke to the contractor in charge of repairing the Helena destruction of this portion of the Parkway. He said the engineers have declared Bear Den Overlook as compromised. There are 52 landslides in the immediate area. The plan calls for the Bear Den Overlook to be torn down and rebuilt. They are actively working in the area and keeping all foot and bike traffic off the Parkway from Bear Den to Linville. Should take about five years.
