The path itself is easy and well trodden. What makes this a moderate hike is the 1.3 miles of continuous ascent at 5 degrees. There are ample benches placed for those who wish to pause.

Hadn't been on this trail in several years. Got stuck behind a family chain smoking their way along the trail during fire season, wondering how much further they had to go (they were 1000ft from the parking lot) 4 or 5 years ago and decided there were better trail options where I was less likely to die in a cigarette induced fire. I finally went back for a winter hike last year and found they had redone the trail here and its really nice now! Great views most of the way, easier climb and less chaotic so far. It's great if you just need to get out of town without going too far. I was walking the Lower trail to avoid this one, but that one gets sketchy scary around sundown, not sure why, but it feels off.
