It's a seemingly short route, but the uneven terrain makes it a bit challenging. Undoubtedly, the views of the entire Valley of Mexico are beautiful and can be enjoyed from the various natural viewpoints. It's very sandy, so I recommend wearing boots and long socks. We didn't descend to the crater, but we believe it's easily accessible. There isn't a marked trail, but several paths lead to the cross at the summit. We entered from the front, to the left, about 50 meters from the Zapotlilla market where we parked the car. There's a lot of wildlife, mostly hidden: turtle beetles and their larvae, rabbits, many birds, numerous anthills at the top, and a black-tailed rattlesnake (it wasn't aggressive when there were two of them together).
