Serenity at Echo Ridge, Middletown

I am living in this place and I just moved a month ago. I love this place. These are newly built apartments and everything is luxury. Kitchen is my favourite part. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Sasha and Tenna are very nice. Its safe place to live.

Flooding. Water damage. Ruined belongings. Constant noise. Thin walls. Disruptive neighbors. ***If you are considering this property, please take a moment to read this review.*** This has been, by far, the most disappointing living experience I have encountered in over 13 years of renting and homeownership. First and foremost, I want to acknowledge that the office and maintenance staff have been professional and courteous. My concerns are not a reflection of their service. They did an excellent job presenting the property and assisting with the leasing process. However, no level of customer service can compensate for the fundamental issues with the construction quality of these buildings. On the very day I moved in, my shower malfunctioned catastrophically, causing significant flooding in my unit as well as the apartments below. Maintenance later informed me that this was not an isolated incident. My downstairs neighbors experienced severe water damage as a result, with water pouring through their ceilings and onto their personal belongings. It has now been two weeks since I moved in, and the repairs are still ongoing. The extent of the damage required drywall removal, trim replacement, and the installation of seven industrial fans, which raised the temperature in my unit to over 80 degrees. I have also had my water shut off multiple times. These are not minor inconveniences; they are major structural failures. Beyond the immediate flooding issue, the overall construction quality of these buildings is extremely poor. While the exterior may appear modern and appealing, the reality is that these structures were hastily assembled with little attention to durability or soundproofing. The walls are incredibly thin, offering no privacy. Expect to hear everything from loud music and televisions to shouting and screaming from neighbors at all hours. If peace and quiet are a priority for you, this will not be a suitable living environment. Additionally, turning on the hot water produces a strong sulfur odor, further highlighting concerns about plumbing and water quality. It is evident that these buildings were constructed as quickly and cheaply as possible, with subcontractors who did not prioritize quality workmanship. If you are considering renting here, I strongly encourage you to visit the site and observe how these units are assembled. Unfortunately, I regret my decision to move here. Since day one, I have experienced nothing but disruptions—constant repairs, contractors entering my unit at all hours, and major structural concerns that should never have occurred in a newly built residence. For the price, I expected a far higher standard of living. I would not recommend this property to anyone looking for a well-built, peaceful, and reliable place to live.

We have lived at Echo Ridge for 4 months now and there's definitely been some hiccups along the way! I will say however, Village Green did take great care of us and did everything I felt we deserved and was the "right" thing to do by us when the incident took place (won't get in to details about it because like I said, they did do right by us on it).That was a very pleasant surprise if I'm being honest. The office staff is fanomenal here, they know you by name on your first day and always seem interested in how your doing. You're probably like, all this sounds great, why the three stars? I took away one star for each of these reasons. I live on the bottom floor and you can almost hear a pin drop in the apartment above us if I don't have something on in my apartment. Even when there is something on you can hear a lot upstairs. They allow pets, which is nice, but when a larger dog lives above you, when they play, you hear it! My other reason is due to the placement of the AC/Heating units. As I said I live in a bottom floor apartment, a foot from my outside wall (my bedroom window and the two dinning room windows) sits FIVE large AC/Heating units, next to them are 4 more that line the same wall only outside my garage. Mind you, these are very low efficiency units. The building sits next to another building (about 10yrds) where six more line that wall. Imagine the sound of 15 large shop fans trapped between two buildings! These things are so loud (especially now that it's winter) I can't hear myself think sometimes. Its probably the worst place for the units I've seen at apartments.. It's fine to just have one outside your window but 15 is absolutely very crappy! Honestly, I didn't get to see the apartment before signing the lease (my roomate came to look at them) but I would have not signed if I had for the AC unit situation alone. At first I thought I'd atleast get a quite winter but figured out they were also the heating units and they are actually louder and running more this time of year. Next, every building is lined with fairly large LED spotlights that stay on all night. I'm someone who likes dark when I sleep, even with thick curtains, quite a bit of light shines through. I wish they would have just put in lamp post and maybe some motion detectors. An update on my complaints... I took my situation to Tessa (office representative) and she was more than happy to go to bat for me to get a transfer in the works. There is a specific apartment, that still has a connected garage and sits on the outside of the building that does not have any AC units outside any of the windows (not sure why the owners/construction did not apply this to ALL the buildings). Only one of these apartments are currently available and we are not technically at our six month point in the lease (requirement for a transfer). Tessa fought and pushed on our behalf to go ahead and allow the transfer. Not only did she get the transfer approved early, she also got them to waive the fees associated with the transfer. I can not express my gratitude enough considering she really didn't have to push for us at all. I'm beyond pleased with the way all our issues have been handled at Echo Ridge and I can honestly say I would go to bat for these ladies if they ever asked me to.

Five stars, across the board. I moved to Echo Ridge from Northwest Indiana back at the beginning of June after getting a new job and knew it had to be a quick process. Toni-Ann made the moving process smooth and so easy. I knew exactly what I was getting into. There were no hidden fees or expectations that I wasn’t aware of when I moved in. My apartment is beautiful and the entire complex is well maintained. I would recommend Echo Ridge again and again :)

Lost my key to the building and someone returned it to the office for me- made my day! The community here is great and really looks out for each other. Plus, maintenance helps fix up the little things in a timely manner. It’s a great place to live!
