This was taken from the California Zephyr train over the Rocky Mountains. It is a spectacular journey. We followed the Colorado River up. Unfortunately, our train had a problem with the observation car and had to ditch it in San Francisco (I think) so we didn't have the best views. I think Amtrak is worthy of a major upgrade! So many people I talked to on the train said they didn't want to fly over all that beautiful American scenery. The railroad does the driving, so you can sit back and enjoy it! Besides that, there are people from all over the country and world, all talking to each other and ooing and aaahing at the scenery! This is so worth it! But without the observation car, it was a lot less. I wasn't quick enough to get a pic, but on the way down the eastern side to Denver, I saw a stag by the track. He was so still, I thought he was a statue. Then he moved, and he was gone.
