If you decide to take the road less traveled down the Colorado River (meaning the south side!), stop here at Moonflower Canyon! Dog-friendly if you're so inclined, and kid-friendly for the amount of bouldering/scrambling available up the canyon walls, this walk is pleasant, quiet, and beautiful, even in February! It got us out of the main canyon winds, and allowed for some fun reflection at the pool at the end of the walk. It's flat, with just under 1/2 mile out and back, and worth the time.

I spent an afternoon at Moonflower Canyon Recreation Center and brought my Native American flute with me. As I played, the sound echoed through the canyon walls, creating this warm, resonant vibration that felt alive. It was as if the rocks themselves were singing back.
