We had George (Jorge) as our tour guide and he was awesome! Our 2 year old son was teething his molars and he was in an out of sleep, and cranky at times. George was patient and kind, and took time to answer our questions about the animals. We saw a quetzal, which was so cool! No monkeys, coatis, or toucans, which was disappointing, but obviously not our guide’s fault. It was a calm and peaceful hike, and there was no rain, which was awesome! Cost was $25/person to enter the reserve self-guided or $55/person to enter with a guide. I recommend having a guide as we would have not known where to look on our own, but also because they have a telescope so you can get amazing photos!

We had a fantastic morning at the Curicancha Reserve and were able to observe various mammals such as capuchin monkeys, agoutis, and pacas. But what I enjoyed most were the birds: toucans, hummingbirds, and quetzals. Our guide, José, was very friendly, attentive, and professional at all times! It was a highly recommended experience!

I visited Reserva Curi Cancha in a 4h guided tour with David Madrigal and it was AWESOME! The tour has started in the parking lot at 6:30AM where David explained us what we were gonna do during the morning. He was so clear and patient, but determined to drag us along ad soon as he saw something in the trees. Thank him we were able to see a lot of birds, especially some toucans, one beautiful bellbird and THREE Resplendant Quetzal. I recommend Curi Cancha more than any other reserve

David Madrigal is my #1 choice for bird watching experiences and general wildlife! He is patient, funny, and super approachable. This is a non negotiable trip for me because of the shere amount of knowledge you come away with about the complex ecosystem and wildlife you are actually living by!
