About This Adventure Destination

Towering majestically in the heart of Tanzania, Mount Kilimanjaro is an awe-inspiring icon. Known as the 'Roof of Africa,' it rises above the plains at a staggering altitude, offering breathtaking views and unique ecosystems. The mountain is actually a dormant volcano, which is a rare geological feature combining three volcanic cones: Kibo, Mawenzi, and Shira. Its snow-capped peak, visible from miles away, creates a striking contrast with the surrounding savannah. This site is one of Earth's most accessible high-altitude hikes, giving adventurers the opportunity to explore diverse terrains—from lush forests to alpine deserts—in a single journey. The cultural significance is profound, revered by local Chaga communities and often noted in mythology and folklore. Visitors journey here for both the physical challenge and the spiritual allure. Whether you are scaling to Gilman's Point or basking in the natural beauty below, Kilimanjaro offers a truly unique encounter with nature.

We reached the summit of Kilimanjaro in record time. A journey that had taken years of thought was finally achieved. George and the rest of the Nature Discovery team played a significant role in helping me reach my goal of summiting Kilimanjaro. The keys to our successful and enjoyable ascent were largely due to George's leadership, from our planning session to the drop-off at my hotel after the summit. During the planning meeting, George took the time to understand my knee issues and adapted the trip to minimize any potential problems. Specifically, we decided to summit on day five instead of day six. This adjustment allowed me to complete the typical 9,000-foot descent after a 4,000-foot ascent over two days, which was incredibly beneficial. Additionally, summiting later in the morning than the other trekkers allowed us to enjoy the summit with just the three of us for almost 30 minutes, providing a truly unique experience, especially considering that over 30,000 people summit Kilimanjaro each year. George also modified the route to include an additional acclimatization hike on day two, which proved to be very beneficial as I did not experience any altitude sickness. George and his team collaborated with the chef to ensure my significant dietary restrictions were accommodated. The chef did a fantastic job of providing tasty and nutritious meals while respecting my restrictions. Each day, George set a great pace, which was particularly perfect on summit day. Furthermore, George and the rest of the Nature Discovery team were a lot of fun and a joy to be with for the seven days. They embraced my silly sense of humour, which helped me stay relaxed and present during the climb. I highly recommend Nature Discovery. Ask for George as a guide for Kilimanjaro. His extensive guiding experience, knowledge of the area's flora and fauna, and fun personality are outstanding! A huge thanks to George and his team for providing a wonderful experience.

My boyfriend and I decided to make an attempt at Kilimanjaro with the Nature Discovery team via the Lemosho route, a 7 day total trek. We had the most exceptional experience. The head guide, Cyprian, the assistant guide, Gama, and the entire team of other staff members and porters made this experience life-changing. They were mountaineering experts and were knowledgable about the mountain, wildlife, and plant life throughout our journey. Our weak American bodies were in the safest hands possible. We also ate the very best food! I'm a vegetarian and I ate better on Kili than I do at home. Nature Discovery Tanzania provided the most remarkable experience and left us feeling so much gratitude and humility. If you're up for a once in a lifetime adventure while being in the company of absolutely remarkable people, choose Nature Discovery!

I'll start with the positives. I spent two weeks in total, with Arusha National Park, the Lengai trek, Tarangire, and the Kilimanjaro climb on the itinerary. Everything went wonderfully because we were very well looked after (from the driver to the various guides, porters, etc.). Special mention goes to the organization during the bivouacs (the logistics were top-notch, the whole team took excellent care of us, and what can I say about the cooks who prepared exceptional and varied meals for us). In short, an exceptional trip made possible by the staff's expertise. The negative point (mentioned on-site, and I don't think NatureDiscovery is responsible for it) was the mandatory tipping for the Kilimanjaro climb. We had a wonderful time, but when it came time to tip (which is normally at the discretion of the staff), we had to negotiate because the amount wasn't to their liking. This put us in a rather uncomfortable situation and significantly increased our budget (tips amounted to 15% of the total budget). Nevertheless, I recommend this agency if you want to visit Tanzania! Thank you for everything.

A superb safari in Tanzania in January 2024. We discovered magnificent nature and a great many beautiful animals (numerous bird species, the "Big Five," and many other mammals). Emilie planned an itinerary for us, taking into account our wishes and the realities of the terrain. We had a very competent driver-guide, both in terms of driving and his knowledge of the flora and fauna. We left with a wealth of unforgettable memories.

This tour operator is simply perfect! We had no unpleasant surprises. Our guide, Joseph Panda, was exceptionally professional! Well done to the team!
