Buffaloe Road Canoe Launch

This stretch flows through more urban areas but retains a tranquil atmosphere. Paddlers will pass through Raleigh’s Greenway system, offering a unique mix of nature and city views.

Easy take-out points and picnic areas make this a convenient route.

Anderson Point Park

~5 miles

This section provides a wider river with slower currents, making it perfect for beginners or families. Expect to see bald eagles, osprey, and occasional river otters.

Well-maintained kayak ramps and parking facilities.

The Neuse River Trail, a 27.5-mile paved greenway, runs alongside various sections of the river. This allows for easy vehicle drop-off and scenic post-paddle walks. Historically, the Neuse River was important for Indigenous communities and early European settlers, serving as a transportation route.
