Crystal Waters of Hòn Mun

Had a negative experience here as part of a tour. The place is really dirty. The toilets are filthy, with no soap, and smell really bad. I saw a dead cockroach in the middle of the women’s bathroom. The chairs to sit on etc are all really dirty too. The water is incredibly choppy too, I didn’t understand why we were given life jackets but the waves are so strong it knocks you over as you’re trying to get in. The stones are so sharp too, I tried many times and actually couldn’t even get into the water as the waves kept knocking me down as I tried. I have bruises all over my legs and butt. Theres only a small area you’re allowed to swim in too. There’s also not enough sun loungers which you pay for and again they’re not clean. One thing that really upset me too - and I’d urge the management to look into- was that they’re keeping birds in tiny cages here. I think sparrows. I actually cried seeing how small the cage was and how the bird was trying to leave constantly. It’s inhumane and totally unnecessary to keep wild birds in very small cages as pets when there are so many people visiting too so it’s overwhelming for the birds. They’re not able to even move freely. These birds should be left wild - THEY’RE NOT PETS. I’d strongly urge them to set these birds free.

The beach is clean and beautiful, but there are many pebbles that hurt your feet, and it's easy to slip and fall when the waves are strong. Lockers cost 20k, chairs 30k, a beach hut with deck chairs 250k, soft drinks 15k/case, and bottled water 25k. It's great for taking photos and checking in, but swimming isn't fun. 😔

The staff had an extremely bad attitude.

The blue sea and beautiful rocky beaches need to be preserved. But I won't be coming back a second time because tourism has ruined the island terribly.

Great place to see the coral, and the view is beautiful too. The water was very clean. However, 30k for a bucket of water feels a bit excessive.
