Niagara Falls is absolutely incredible. You see it so many times in photos and videos that you think you already know what to expect, but being there is completely different. The size, the sound and the power of the water are really impressive. I also did the Voyage to the Falls boat tour, and I have mixed feelings about it. Would I recommend doing it? Yes. Did I think it was expensive for how quick the experience feels? Also yes. 😂 I paid around CAD 48. You get the poncho, board the boat, get very close to the falls, get completely wet, feel the power of the water and suddenly you are already coming back. My first thought was basically, “Wait... that's it?” 😂 I honestly think the price is high for the amount of time you spend on the boat. But if you are already visiting Niagara Falls, I would still do it. Being that close to Horseshoe Falls is something you should experience at least once. My biggest recommendation, though, is to stay until nighttime. Seeing Niagara Falls illuminated in different colours and then watching the fireworks was probably my favourite part of the entire visit. There was a moment during the fireworks when I just stood there looking at the falls and feeling genuinely grateful that I had the opportunity to travel and see a place like this. It was beautiful. I did not stay overnight in Niagara Falls, and I actually regret that. If I went again, I would probably spend one night there and enjoy everything without rushing back to Toronto. So yes, go to Niagara Falls. Do the boat tour even if you complain about the price like I did 😂, stay for the illumination and fireworks, and if you have enough time, spend the night. It really is worth seeing at least once in your life.
