Serene Shores of T'Ore Mauritania

Baba and his team of experienced, smart and humble guides and drivers did everything to make the 8 days a trip to remember forever. We came as clients and left as friends after a week in the most beautiful places you can imagine. Mauritania has so much more to offer than the iron ore train (I mean the ride was awesome 🤙🏽🤙🏽) and I can only recommend going there with Baba, Adnan, Momo and the other guys - they take care of everything. 💯 🔝 ❤️ Take the chance now as tourism is almost not existing in Mauritania (we met maybe 10-12 other tourists in total) One last thing: do not let you fool by travel warnings, they are ridiculous - I never had not felt safe (and I did long walks either in crowded places in the cities and in rural areas..)

We went on a trip with Baba’s T’Ore Mauritania in September 2024 while this part of the Sahara was experiencing record-breaking rainfall (and storms). Basically none of the original itinerary went according to plan, but Baba always came up with a great plan B (and sometime C and D!). We couldn’t have asked for a better tour. We still got to hit all the major highlights of the itinerary and have some really unique memories of it all as a bonus. If you are looking for an awesome tour and experience in Mauritania, they are the best, regardless of the situation!

What an amazing trip, what a lifetime adventure! Background Tired of European scenery, my buddy Emil and I craved some real adventure. So, we decided to shake things up and head to Mauritania for an epic trip. We wanted to soak in the African vibes, dive into a different culture, and have some wild experiences along the way. Shoutout to T’Ore Mauritania team Big thanks to the awesome folks at T’Ore Mauritania for making our trip unforgettable. They had everything sorted, from the nitty-gritty details to the spontaneous fun stuff. Our guide, Mome, was a legend – always making sure we were well-fed, hydrated, and entertained. And let's not forget Salek, our trusty driver, who navigated us through all sorts of terrain without a hitch. And of course, Baba, the brain behind the operation, who showed me the ropes in Nouakchott on my last day :) Journey route and highlights Here's the route: Nouakchott – Terjit Oasis – Chinguetti – Ouadane – Zouerat – Iron Ore Train – Nouadhibou – Nouakchott The People: Mauritanians are some of the friendliest folks you'll ever meet. We had tea with locals, snapped pics, and soaked up their hospitality wherever we went Iron Ore Train: Riding on top of the world's longest and heaviest train for almost a whole day was insane. The views of the Sahara were unreal – definitely a once-in-a-lifetime experience Ouadane: This hidden gem in the Sahara blew us away with its ancient vibes and stunning old city. It felt like stepping back in time Chinguetti to Ouadane Drive: Cruising through the desert was wild. Sahara landscapes, sand dunes as far as the eye could see, with hardly a soul in sight – just us and the open road Nouakchott: The camel market, the bustling port – Nouakchott was a whirlwind of colors and culture that I won't forget anytime soon In summary, this trip was an absolute blast – I'd give it 11 out of 10! Highly recommend it to anyone up for an adventure! Mome and Baba, it would be awesome to catch up with you guys in Europe this summer.
