Awesome camp ground next to the beach. You can hear the ocean, and the beach was clean and beautiful. Only cons were there is No hot water and there is some pricker grass and cactus

We chose this campsite specifically because it was listed as a generator-free area in the app. We were staying in Loop D, but the people directly in front of us had their generator running for most of the day. Unfortunately, this really affected our experience. One of the main reasons we chose a generator-free site was to enjoy the peace, quiet, and natural atmosphere of camping on Ocracoke. Having to listen to a generator for hours was frustrating, especially when we intentionally selected an area where generators were not supposed to be used. The campground and location itself were beautiful, but I really wish the generator-free rules were better enforced so that guests who specifically choose these sites can actually enjoy the quiet experience they are expecting.

The campground was almost empty all week (week before Labor Day weekend). Well maintained and very clean. Super easy access to the beach over the dunes. Many of the sites on the ocean side have shrubs around them, so wind and privacy wasn’t an issue. Lots of grass throughout the campground too. Water is located near the bathrooms/showers, and the showers are cold water only. Biting insects of course at dusk and dawn, so bring your bug spray. Great place for a quiet getaway!
