Discover the Serenity of Lake Ohrid

We're at this Lake Ohrid in late February this year. We took a cruise about an hour exploring the lake. After that we walked surrounding the area for souvenirs. There are many shops selling freshwater pearls.

Lake Ohrid is a magical place that simply enchants you. Located in North Macedonia and Albania, the lake is not only breathtakingly beautiful, but its surroundings are also full of historical and cultural wonders. The lake town of Ohrid is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and when you visit it, you almost travel back in time. Macedonian churches, old ruins and narrow, stone streets all tell a story from the past. The water of the lake is crystal clear, and when you look at it, you simply get a soothing feeling. The mountains rising in the background and the green landscape seem to have emerged from a painting. If you want to go sailing or swimming, it is an ideal place, as the water is cool and refreshing, while the landscape impresses you from all directions. I especially liked that the place is perfect for relaxing and exploring at the same time. The settlements around the lake present not only the beauties of nature, but also the local culture. If you are interested in both history and nature, it is the best place to relax and immerse yourself in the magic of the past.
