A large but deserted beach, no crowds, no loud music, no annoying vendors - just sun, sand and sea. Easily accessible from the nearby road. Enjoy! 08.12.2022

Welches Beach in Barbados feels more like a local stretch of coastline than a clearly marked tourist destination. When we asked our driver to take us to Maxwell Beach, we were dropped off here instead, as locals often see this area as part of the city rather than a specific pin on the map. It’s also not too far from the cruise port, making it a feasible option for cruise tourists who want to get off the ship and see a less commercial beach. The beach has more waves than many typical Barbados beaches, which can be fun and refreshing, and the water colors are absolutely gorgeous. If you walk toward the far left end, you’ll find some very pretty palm trees and a bit of natural shade. There are no beach bars or facilities and no real snorkeling, and you can’t walk along the shore to Maxwell Beach from here. A nice, low-key spot with great scenery and a local feel.

Beautiful beach for walking. The sand doesn't get hot and the surface is ideal for walking. There are some shady spots under trees.

Great place to relax. Also, if you are into water sports such as kite surfing you won't regret it. It's also close tons of amenities. Amazing sunset between November and February.
