We are staying at an Airbnb on the Toho Lake in St. Cloud and decided to hike at Split Oak Forest Wildlife and Environmental Area. We were shocked at the abundance of wildlife we heard and saw. This a beautiful park with good trail markers. We did the upper trial starting at the central trail. It was 4.86 miles. We saw spoonbills, egrets, storks, little blue herons, 6 striped lizard, squirrel monkeys, butterflies, towhees, red velvet ant, vireos, and many Sandhills cranes. We will definitely come back!
