Monte Armetta represents the highest elevation of the Ligurian Prealps. The summit, at 1739 meters high, is rather rounded; you can enjoy an excellent view of the historic center of Ormea, which appears heart-shaped. Towards the west, you can see a large part of the ridge that separates Val Roya and Val Tanaro, over which the Italian/French border runs. Towards the sea, you can enjoy a good view of the Albenga plain and a good part of the hinterland between the provinces of Savona and Imperia. To reach the summit it is possible to go up from the "Madonna del Lago" or from the nearest "Colle di Caprauna".
